Epidural Hematoma Progression (CT)

About Epidural Hematoma

An epidural hematoma is bleeding between the skull and the tough lining that covers the brain. It usually comes from a torn artery after a hit near the temple. Blood builds up fast and pushes on the brain. Many people black out, wake up feeling okay, and then get much worse over the next hours. This is an emergency and often needs surgery.
